Acer (Giapponese) Palmatum "Skeeters"

A dwarf relative of Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'. It features notably large, deeply lobed leaves that are bright red in spring. Darkening to burgundy in summer, they then turn bright red in autumn for a vibrant display. This small Japanese Maple has a slightly upright habit, growing to 2 x 2 metres in 20 years. Best planted in a well draining yet moist site away from strong winds, Acer palmatum 'Skeeter's Broom' will reward you with beautiful colours from spring through autumn.
